Interrupting pruning for some prose
hoppin' Sometimes we have to put down the shears and garden gloves for a break, and what better way to pass some solitary time than by reading poetry.  I am not a poet, and did not write any of these.  I don't even consider myself a writer, but I do love to read.  My taste is varied in poetry. If a piece moves me in any way, I like it . . . whether it makes me smile, shed a tear, or simply stop and think.  I have identified the author of each piece, if I know it.  'Nuf said . . . let's enjoy some poetry.  In sweet solitude, in the garden. dreamin'

Solitude is a silent storm that breaks down all our dead branches;
yet it sends our living roots deeper into the living heart
of the living earth.
