In the Greenhouse

This is one of my favorite places ... except in the hottest part of the summer.
But even then, especially when it's raining, it's a very special haven. I love
collecting all types of plants. Some are unique, and others are quite unusual.
I'm always looking for something new ... and the odder, the better.

fiddleleaf fig

This was taken in the coldest part of winter, when I've crowded
just about everything I can in here. It becomes a little jungle.
The large plant, front and center, is a 'Fiddleleaf Fig' (ficus).

If it's rare, we want it. If it's tiny and impossible to
grow, we've got to have it. It it's brown, looks dead,
and has black flowers, we'll kill for it.
