Hello world . . .
August 2000This beauty was one of our pride and joys this summer. After discovering four swallowtail caterpillars happily munching a potted parsley plant on my deck, we watched them form their pupas about a week later. A little over a week after, they started emerging. This one had just broken free. The empty cocoon is visible to the right of its wing. It clung to the chives for a while, seeming to gain its strength, and then flew merrily on his way.
